- Jessica Nahmias
- Journalist. Producer. Editor. Jessica Nahmias is a recent Graduate of the Broadcast Journalism Masters program at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. She is an aspiring Arts and Entertainment reporter who hails from the Entertainment capital of the Great White North: Toronto, Canada. She hopes to plant herself on red carpets everywhere, covering film festivals, fashion weeks, and award shows. While Jessica is a regular follower of Hollywood gossip, she plans on covering the arts and entertainment from a critical and contemplative point of view. She wants audiences to take a deeper look at the cultural items that influence them so much, and that play such a major role in the global economy. She believes it is worthwhile to interrogate these mediums by exposing how they reproduce and maintain existing ideologies. She wants audiences to look at film, music, television and fashion with a critical eye, to see how race, gender, and socio-economic relations are (re)presented. While Jessica plans on taking a nuanced and critical look at the arts, she’s also a sucker for good ole’ fashion and entertainment reporting; “Who are you wearing?”, and all.
